The Opportunity
Located at the tip of Australia, the Northern Peninsula Area (NPA) of Cape York is home to the communities of Injinoo, Umagico, Bamaga, New Mapoon and Seisia – comprising a rich and diverse cultural and linguistic heritage of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council (NPARC) is the local government entity supporting these five culturally distinct communities.
Working with such a remote client needs creative, agile solutions.
Our Approach
C7EVEN has a long-established relationship with NPARC, producing a variety of successful, culturally appropriate deliverables over the past five years. Our relationship is founded on our ability to work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, recognising and responding to the unique nuances of delivering quality work in one of the most remote areas of Australia.
Via our methodology C7EVEN developed and continue to develop a variety of deliverables and communication campaigns for council including:
- Animal management and awareness campaign
- Culturally appropriate marketing and communications strategy development
- Brand development
- Character development
- Illegal dumping communications strategy and execution of an awareness campaign
- Video and radio production
- Digital marketing and print; and
- Signage including directional signage.
The Outcome
C7EVEN have delivered several key outcomes over the duration of our relationship with NPARC. Some of the notable items include:
- Developing a culturally appropriate localised brand for council that resonates with the five communities.
- Developing and delivering several behavioural change campaigns in region
- Activating marketing campaigns with over 99% reach of the local population via multiple channels
Specifically, C7EVEN has improved councils’ ability to communicate and transfer information to its local constituents.
