To deliver on community programs that encouraged in person attendance, social connection and a boost in local revenue, C7EVEN worked with Council to successfully execute a suite of events that celebrated the Gunnedah shire. 

The Opportunity

Gunnedah Shire Council, leveraging grant funding from the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW program, enlisted C7EVEN for strategic and operational assistance for the execution of several community and tourism events within the Gunnedah shire.  

Given C7EVEN’s extensive expertise in local government and event management, we were a natural choice for the project. 

C7EVEN assisted Council to plan, execute and manage the following community and tourism events:  

  • Christmas Fair 2022 
  • Australia Day 2023 
  • Harvest Gunnedah 2023 

Ultimately, C7EVEN delivered on the commitment to provide both strategic and operational guidance in the lead, on-ground and post event, bolstering the region’s event and social calendar. 

Our Solution

To deliver on community programs that encouraged in person attendance, social connection and a boost in local revenue, C7EVEN worked with Council to successfully execute a suite of events that celebrated the Gunnedah shire. 

C7EVEN played a pivotal role in the success of the events. Our strategic and operational event management support was instrumental in making the Christmas Fair, Australia Day, and Harvest Gunnedah Festival events truly memorable and successful. 

For each of the events, C7EVEN’s event support activities included: 

  • Event theming and decorations 
  • Driving stallholder engagement and local business participation 
  • PR and comms support: drafting media releases, website content and radio scripts and produced radio adverts 
  • Sourcing entertainment, live music and children’s activities to bolster each event’s attendance appeal 
  • Source and coordination of hire, infrastructure, equipment and suppliers 
  • Bump-in/out and on-ground event management 

Highlights and Achievements

Overwhelmingly positive sentiment from stallholders, vendors and the larger community.  

In person attendance of approx. 5,200 plus across the events. 

Provided capacity building to support Council’s tourism team with strategic event management expertise to enable sustainable event practices at Council.
